H1N1 (Pandemic) Flu Advisory

 

H1N1 (formerly the Swine Flu), is now widespread in the U.S. and around the world.  There are confirmed cases locally and public health authorities are monitoring the situation closely.

Because this is a new virus, almost everyone is susceptible. 
 

Feeling sick?  Would you like to be evaluated for the flu?

What can you do to keep from getting the flu?

•Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
•Cover your cough with your elbow.
•Wash your hands often!
•Get plenty of sleep.
•Eat nutritiously.
•Manage your stress.

 

What are the signs and symptoms?
•Fever
•Cough
•Sore throat
•Headache
•Body aches
•Chills
•Fatigue
•And sometimes diarrhea and/or vomiting.

 

If you are not feeling well :

Call for a same-day appointment (827-3031) or come to the Campus Health Center. Walk-in hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

On the weekends, go to a local urgent care clinic. Riverside Medical Center’s Urgent Care is located at 7117 Brockton Ave. and has weekend hours from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.


Do NOT attend class
. Stay in and rest. Better yet, if possible, return home for a few days. (People with the H1N1 are infectious for 7 days.)
