Students with the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP)

Students with the University health insurance will have little if any out-of-pocket expenses for a Campus Health Center visit for injury or illness. The visit fee, lab fees, X-rays and procedure fees will be paid by your insurance plan. There will be a co-pay ($15 for Undergraduates and $10 for Graduate Students) for any medications you are prescribed.

There may be fees for any services that are not a result of an injury or illness. For example, vaccines, physicals and travel advising fall into this category, as do laboratory tests that are not medically indicated, but are requested by the patient.

Students with Private Insurance

Students who do not have the University health insurance will be charged a visit fee of $10.00 for an appointment and $20.00 for a same-day visit. They will be charged lab fees, X-ray fees and procedure fees according to their treatment needs. (See below.)

The Campus Health Center does not bill private insurance companies, but we do provide patients with a clear invoice which they may submit to their insurer for reimbursement.

Students from Other University of California Campuses

UC students from other campuses pay the same fees as non-SHIP UCR students. Payment is due at the time of service.

ESL Students

ESL students with the ESL health insurance plan will pay their share of their fees at the time of the visit. The remainder will be billed to their insurance.

Faculty and Staff

UCR faculty and staff are eligible for very limited services. Payment for those services is due in full at the time of the visit.
